The NIK software has been free for quite some time. Are you just discovering this? It is a great software and even better now that it's free. LOL

It was also the basis for Nikon's View NX2 and Capture NX2. Both were rewritten and renamed when Nik sold to Google.

As others have said, it's been free for a couple of years. I really like several of the modules, especially Silver Efex and HDR Efex. That said, there's been concern expressed by numerous persons, including Scott Kelby, that Google is abandoning support, and that eventually, it will stop working due to changes in Windows, Lightroom, Photoshop, etc.

However, I recommend installing it and enjoying it while it still works.
