One of the most enduring subjects for photographs are the numerous abbys, cathedrals and village churches across the UK. Many date for hundreds of years before America was discovered. All are interesting building exhibiting many styles.
One of the best memories I have is hearing the peels of church bells from village churches ring out on special holidays including Easter and being able to visit a belfry in a local village church and seeing the gigantic size of the bells. Even the smallest villages boast of their own village church, many of them build of stone, slate or native rock, some even with thatched roofs.

Thank you for your post. We visited Westminster, Bath and arrived at Cantebury in time for Sunday worship. Also visited St. Paul's. I have always been impressed by the size and beauty of these buildings and they were all built before the days of modern day power tools.
Very nice photos. We just don't have many like that on this side of the pond.
GREAT pix! Any shots of the building that's the set of 'Downton Abby?'
