No experience with that lens/extender setup, but looks like a winning combo--especially like the grackle composition, glowing iridescence, glowering stare!

Thank you. Those are among my oldest pieces of Nikon glass, but still do a pretty good job. My newest long Nikon lens is in Melville being repaired under warranty.

Thanks Bruce. When I put the new perch in the feeder I also lowered and reduced the size of the seed tray. It makes it a little harder for the Grackles giving the smaller birds a better chance.

Thanks Martin.

I can't really decide if I like the clean, green background or the busy background created by the barberry bush. Since moving the feeder with attached perch a couple of feet left or right is all it takes to change the background I do it as the mood strikes.

Your comment has me thinking about it, which is a good thing.
