Hmmm, it looks like what you did with this photo is to take the contrast out and brightened the detail out and then selectively painted the core shadows and some other shadow areas back on a separate layer. As a painter/photographer or photographer/painter (depending on the day and my mood) I find this to be an interesting and thought provoking idea of a way to post process a photo that I haven't seen taken to this level before. The three dimensional effect that you achieved in the torso area and her arm is 'WOW" level work, the hair that's hanging around her shoulders is also masterfully handled, but, and here's the one thing I don't like about this photo, the dodging you did with the hair on her head looks, to me, like it's flat and without detail and the color shift to gray doesn't really work for me either. That being said, it wouldn't need very much more detail and color brought back to make it look like it's part of the same photo and restore the 3-dimensional look that you have accomplished so well in the torso area. Thanks for posting this idea-inspiring approach to post-processing this image of a beautiful young woman.

I agree with jonsommer on all points, but would add that the sharp contrast line of her left leg in the groin area is a bit strong.

Great shot. Hope we see more of this lady in the future?
I like this photo... she and her surroundings are evaporating before our very eyes.... quite an effect. If it were bold and brash we would not look so intensely.
Would be interested knowing how you did it.
