Recently purchased. $100. I will pay shipping. Send me private message with your email to complete transaction. PayPal, Walmart transfer, or check OK.

I am not using it as I expected. Need to reduce inventory of stuff I am not using.

Check the Kenko web page to see if it works with your lenses. It works with all of the ones I have tried it on including 55-300, 28-300, and 200-500. All on a D5300. As a point of interest the D5300 knows it is there so reports the actual f-stop with it on and puts the effective mm into the EXIF.

Does it work in auto focus on the 200-500? I believe I have been told that it is manual only on that lens.

It works fine with my 200-500 on both my D5300 and D800. Min f-stop becomes f8. The cameras display adjusted f-stop.

The D5300 is supposed to be sketchy on focusing at f8 but I have no issues with teleconverter on it. Even works with 55-300.

Does it work in auto focus, is what I was asking? My understanding that kenko tele extenders do not auto focus on AF-S lenses.

Yes it works in autofocus fine. All my lenses are AF-S.

It may be that there are issues with old cameras. I use it on a D5300 and D800. I use it with 28-300, 55-300, and 200-500. It works fine with all combinations.

The camera even repots the adjusted focal length and f-stop; e.g. f8 min. With 200-500.

Thanks for the information; I didn't know that Kenko teleconverters worked on AF-S lenses. I hear their pro 300 1.4 is a fine piece of glass and does a really good job.

I have the 28-300 and was wondering if it works through the entire range of the lens. Literature seems to not recommend using it below 50mm on that lens. Still would like to purchase it if it is still available.

I haven't tried it there. Why would you want to use it below about 210mm? You will get better images and lower min. F-stop without it.

I can test it if you wish.

It is still available.

I would use it on my 50mm to give me a better portrait lens. I leave the 28-300 on for casual, lazy (framing without moving) shots. The 1.4x would help with only the longer nature shots I want as you suggested. Just want to be sure that there is no mechanical interference at the lower end. I'd hate to ruin the lens putting it in the locked position.

The camera end of the 28-300 doesn't move.

I don't know about using the teleconverter with a non-AFS lens (such as my 50mm). I haven't tried that. I am not sure it has the rod for camera-driven AF. So it might be manual focus in that case.

You should check the Kenko page for compatibility.

I previously had found a big chart but can't find that now.

I see it says they do not recommend using it with lenses of 50mm or less due to image distortion.
