I found two old film cameras that don't work. My goal was to play around with B&W uploaded into LR4. Just curious how it would look. So I'm going to buy an used film camera to use for this experiment. I know there are lots of options but I might save some time by getting some feedback from the user group here.

It has to come with a lens or I need to find a Canon that can use my EF lenses.

Thanks for you help in advance.

I don't know the Canon models (I'm a Nikonian) but here's a bunch of autofocus bodies ranging from $14 to $124.

No problem. You can also check B&H (bhphotovideo.com) and KEH (keh.com). All three are east coast - I don't know what you have out there.

If you are not in a hurry, I have found some great deals on film cameras at Shopgoodwill.com for $10 some with lenses. It is an auction site but the auctions only last for a week. Might be worth a look.

WHY????

Where will you have the film developed? How will you scan them?

Why not put your cam in B&W mode?

It's like religion.

If you have to ask, you'll never understand the answers.

Thar's why I still run a wet darkroom.

Cheers,

Its like a "religion" good comment...I still love film...keep all the 57 displays you get in the veiwfinder...(if you have one) and sensors...throw in a roll and shoot

I have an A-2 that you can pick up for about $15 plus shipping, I also have a couple of Rebels that you can have for $10 you pay shipping.... No lenses just bodies but your current lenses should work. I think that the A2 had fewer than 10 rolls of film through it before I went digital and never looked back.

Appreciate the comments. The local camera shop is loaning me a used Canon AE and lens. Going to have a roll scanned to see how it looks. Will report.

For your stated purpose, I would suggest either the EOS620 or the EOS650. I used two of the 620's and one of the 650's for years, and I still have and use all three bodies with all of my Canon EF lenses.
