O.K., I am a modest guy. Only camera I have is a Canon Powershot SX 60 HS. In my opinion, big improvement compared to the SX 50. Got a very sharp picture with full 600 mm zoom and framing assist-lock button. Now please tell me its shortcomings

Lilian Stokes a well recognized bird photographer had some interesting words concerning these two cameras.

I've had both cameras but kept the SX50. It's not my primary camera but it's found a place in my bag.

Short coming? Well, it does not look impressive like DSLR and bunch of lenses in expensive pack and to some that is important.

I have a SX50, and Sony A-65 and a stable of lenses and filters. Yes, the SX50&60 sensor are very small, but I find the images to be excellent in spite of that. Your "short comings" difficult question indeed. I am very satisfied with the abilities... can say tho bridge cameras do not fit into pockets like the compact super zooms. Hard put to say negatives... really.

Yes, if you need to increase the resolution.... then try Ben Vista Photo Zoom... not expensive if you stay a release behind as sold by Ashampoo.

The shortcomings are the small sensors. Needed to achieve the long focal length. Size, It is not a compact camera, but rather a Bridge. Both cameras have viewfinders and can shoot RAW, an advantage. Price, another advantage. Not many shortcomings. IMO. Both are very popular cameras today. The SX50 is now out of production.

Enjoy your SX60, darahabu. Never look back! I can only tell you from personal experience, I have one and am generally very happy with it. Is it perfect?? No! But then, what camera is??

As in mine. It is a fine camera and I wouldn't give it up but... it should not be compared to a DSLR (like my 7D Mk II <chuckle>).
