I'd bet Chip and Joanna from "Fixer Upper" on HGTV could do it.

Thank you Rowedean. I loved the colors and textures in this one ..... there seems to be a lot to keep one's eyes busy

A lot of memories and history there. Too bad so many are getting torn down and replaced by cookie cutter steel sheds. My Grandfather's stock barn had reused framing from the early 1800s, aprx 6x6 cut and shaped by axe and adze. Inside the walls of the farm house were some from the original house from the 1790s.

Speaking of re-used wood, there seems to be a market for old barn-wood these days, used as accent pieces inside newer homes.

In the 50s someone tried to get my Grandfather to let them tear down both barns and a few sheds on the farm and replace them with steel prefabs. "Distressed" wood was an in fad with a lot of designers. That fad has hung on and come back a few times in the fashion cycle.
He turned them down, a neighbor had done it and always complained they were too hot, too cold and too noisy to work inside in a heavy rain - gave him a headache.

As one who truly appreciates the grain in wood, I share your neighbor's preference for wooden structures.

Thank you Carol. I think of this as a mood-piece, rough and torn down ..... it just seemed to go well with the scenery.

Love the shot Bob!! When I good down into Arkansa, I see a lot of these. Very sad, but they are fun to see and think about their passed histories .
