I am thinking of trading my Canon EOS T3i for the T6i now that the newest T7i just came out and might get a better deal. What do readers think of this, especially the T6i??? Thanks.

That's why I still have my T1i.
(Running 5 revs back on my phone also!)

I chuckled over DaveO's astute observation, "it never ends"

There are always sites comparing equipment. Here is one:

If you have the money and enjoy acquiring new gear, no reason not to go for it. If you think it will make you a better photographer and your photos will suddenly be sharper, better exposed, and more interesting, best to re-think.

For another $150, I'd buy a refurbished 80D if I was to buy a cropped DSLR camera from Canon. The 80D is in another league and has had time to prove itself with reliability.

I have a 70d and love it! Sam's club had a very good price on them about a year and a half ago.

Oh, the sage advise from the lady from Maine.
Personally, I like older gear that has proven its worth. The new stuff has lots of bells and whistles. But do they really improve your photography? This is a question you have to answer yourself.
For my part, I say get a professional quality body(used)and learn how to use it. Quality stands for itself. You may not get mega pixel counts, or video, or wifi, but what do they have to do with Image Quality?

My two cents worth, olc

The T6i is definitely a better camera than the T3i. Someone suggested a used or refurbished 80D. For the money a refurbished 80D is the way to go. It's just a way better camera than any Rebel.

Again, I ask the standard question: What does your 3i NOT do for you that a 6i will? Sure, there are differences, but ask yourself if you really need them. By the way, how are you doing on lenses, tripod, flash, etc?

I have used both cameras.... If you want to upgrade because the T6i has some new feature that you have always wanted, then go for it. BUT if you want to upgrade because you think you will get better pictures from the newer camera, then DON'T !. The T3i is a fantastic camera - one of the best Rebels I have ever used. Put your money into a better lens.
