Typing was probably the easiest course I had in senior high. There are lots of free typing programs on the internet where you can learn at your own pace. It is all a game of repetition, and one day it all falls into place and you can type. But, persistence is the key.

It's a sore subject for me. Took typing; never did much good.

My parents made me take typing on a manual typewriter. Can still do it, but I have to look at where my hands are when I start as computer has more keys

I took typing in high school and can still type without looking at the keys. I actually use all ten fingers too. My dad worked for a newspaper when he was young and always typed using two fingers. He was pretty fast too.

I was taught typing before I took it in school. During my life, I've always had to 'type' something. I'd say I'm about 50 wpm.

One of many reasons I don't go to the doctor. They get their claws into you, find all kinds of reasons to push more pills at you, and demand you come back every three months or sooner. The only thing I take is thyroid since I had mine removed due to thyroid cancer back in 1978. I aim to keep it that way until I croak.

Yes, but not going to a doctor once a year, means that you will croak earlier.

Not necessarily. I didn't see a doctor for most of my adult life. I did go to the dentist though, and a couple years ago I got a new dentist who takes your blood pressure. She said mine was a bit high, and I should see a doctor. I had just gone on Medicare, so I found a doctor. He confirmed the high blood pressure and added type 2 diabetes. I got a basic prescription for both, cut out most of the sugar in my diet, and now both are good. He said I seemed to have done quite well not seeing a doctor all those years.

In my experiences, the longest you can stay away from Doctors the better. Unfortunately, though, as long as the medical world has control of medications, we are forced to put up with their lies and constant abuse. When we get into the later parts of our lives, we know more about our health and bodies than any Doctor ever will.

Jerry,
Good story; I took typing my freshman year at THE Ohio State University, I needed an extra course so I had enough credits not to be drafted{1967). My counselor suggested the course because as he said;" you will be out-numbered by several co-eds". First day of class there is me and 12 nice young women, I'm the only guy. I'm thinking great situation! Then suddenly the room fills with 16 Police Cadets and my heart sunk! I was a military photojournalist in the army and had to take a typing course and a speed test. Conclusion; I still type using a couple fingers on each hand.

Oh, how I wish I had learned touch-typing when I was younger. I envy people whose fingers fly over the keys with them even looking. As it is, I can type fast, but I have to look, and my fingers often pick up extra letters, so I have to go back and delete them. At least 'spelling correction' helps me to see and correct my errors. So how do you people do at the keyboard?

same here, except i use one finger.....
