When I was a kid here in the USA, a chippy was a woman of loose morals! Just saying' how the the big ocean created two language both called English! When I lived in Surrey back in the day, I rapidly realized that an invitation from a lady to "...knock me up, some time..." was not an overture for fun and games.

Pays to learn the local lingo, even if it is Double Dutch!

The original shot was taken at the Bagshot Chippy (for anyone not aux fait with the colloquialism, 'Chippy' is the Fish & Chip shop) and I decided to use it for cut-out practice as one of my life-long interests has been vintage motorcycles, and the spoked wheels can be a pain! For this exercise I used the pen tool, which is probably the most accurate in the Ps toolbox. Needless to say, man and machine are separate cut-outs. For Dave Chin, the bike is a Sunbeam Lion, side-valve engine, probably 500cc, around 1930-ish.

I like it. I think the background is awesome. I don't mind that the man and the bike are floating. That was an artistic choice that you made and I think it works. Being a huge motorcycle fan myself, I love to see any bike. Nice work.

I didn't have you down as a biker Erich - you rise even further in my esteem!
The background does two things for me, it compliments the blue/black of the leathers and the bike, plus it reminds me of the front cover of Motor Cycle, a Brit weekly magazine that disappeared in the '60's - it was known as 'The Blue'n' for its blue banner heading, of similar hue to my background. Of course those associations rather go to pot in the dark version!

Yeah, I have a few bikes in the garage. One is a 1990 Honda Hurricane, the other is a more modern BMW 1000. Both are toys for Sunday mornings and no traffic. Someday I might even grow up; but that would be a huge disappointment to me. LOL
