Took some long exposure shots and a few of the 'wildlife' today ... comments welcome ... thx for looking Phil
The Goose shot is very clear and beautiful. I feel like one could almost touch the feathers. Like the second because of the symmetry of the wood in the dock and its line directing the eye to the center creating dimension. The third one made me smile. It's adorable.
I totally agree with Santa Fe Rose. Great shots!!

Thank you Joanna for your wonderful comments - the mama wanted to attack me when I got to close to the babies :)
Geese are so protective of their babies. There is a pond on the ranch I frequent where the geese visit. A pair had babies this spring, so I took a lot of photos of them hoping to maybe get a couple of good ones. I caught them reacting when a huge bullfrog came out from under the lily pads. Had a lot of fun until the parents decided to take them to the lake across the road.

Calm after the scare
here are a few more ... thanks for looking Phil
Love your Goose pictures, or is that Geese pictures. What ever they are very good. I especially love the first Goose pix
Thanks. The black and white changes the whole feeling of the photo; shows up the darks and lights (of course, it's black and white) that I hadn't noticed in the colored one. Interesting.
Love your geese photos.
Thank you Jaclee. I'm glad you like them. They are geese pictures. Could you see the bullfrog's head and eyes just peering up from the water?
If I use my imagination and look real close I think I see the frog.
I am curious since you are also in Northern Ca. may I ask where you are? Anywhere near Chico or Susanville?
We live five miles east of Grass Valley.
Only the very top of the frog's head and eyes are showing along with the splash he made. But it is difficult to see unless one can magnify it. At least you can see the initial and second reaction of the geese to know something happened.
Well, we are almost sisters. I grew up in Auburn.
My best friend lived in Grass Valley.
We do live close to one another. Would love to see your photos....where are they posted on this site?
Oh goodness, they are all over. Well except for a stream I started called 4-legged friends & furry children.
Something like that. Regarding caring for animals, mainly dogs. I will go back to see what more specific ans. I can give you.
One stream is called Flower Power. I just added a few new ones, flowers, that is.
Try looking at Unread Topics. That may get you there.
