The light turned yellow, just in front of him.
He did the right thing and stopped at the crosswalk, even though he could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection.
The tailgating woman behind him was furious and honked her horn, screaming in frustration,
as she missed her chance to get through the intersection.
As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a very serious police officer.
The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up.
He took her to the police station where she was searched, fingerprinted, photographed and placed in a holding cell.
After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and opened the door.
She was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting officer was waiting with her personal effects.
He said, "I'm very sorry for this mistake. You see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing your horn, giving the guy in front of you the finger and cursing at him.
I noticed the 'What Would Jesus Do' bumper sticker, the 'Choose Life' license plate holder, the 'Follow Me to Sunday-School' bumper sticker, and the chrome-plated Christian Fish Emblem on the trunk, so naturally I assumed you had stolen the car."
Hope he got his point across.
Don
Unfortunately, there seems to be many of them around, male & female!!

Very good Mark.
Talking of signs at the rear of cars. I cannot understand the logic of people who have "Baby on-board" stickers. Does that make following drivers, drive differently?

"Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage make you a car"
Can't remember where I read that but it's so pertinent in today's society. Loved the story Mark

I don't know the origin in the USA but here in Australia about 20 years ago ( or more) there were a number of auto accidents where babies and small children died in cars where the rescue people didn't know they were there because the vehicles were so badly damaged. so the stickers were meant to make them look harder. Sad but true.

Ah, yes. Hypocracy raising its ugly head.

That never occurred to me, but I don't think that's why most people use them. It's like the perpetual "OPEN" signs I see on stores, even when they're closed. Do people remove the "Baby..." signs when the baby isn't in the car?

It would therefore seem to be sensible to put the stickers on the rear door windows if that were the case.
These days children have to be in approved baby seats or if older, using seat belts with the approved "Cushions". I therefore cannot see that the situations you quote would be relevant today.

Here in Aussie normally yes.
