When I was in the field in Vietnam, LBJ supposedly was scheduled to fly over our position, probably at 30000 feet of so, well when he was due to cross our perimeter, the MP's came out and took our weapons till he was gone. That is what the solders in Vietnam thought of the imperial LBJ.
My only regret was that he died of natural causes.
Kennedy was a great man who had the good of America, Reagan was good, but since then till Trump, it has been all down hill.

Well we did defeat Japan and Hitler. But as far as my comment, you can't win the "War on Poverty" with government (taxpayer funded) handouts. The "Great Society" didn't even look good on paper. It was a failure from the start. The "War on Drugs" is another lost cause. Our jails and prisons are full of casual pot smokers while murderers and rapist roam free. We need to get our priorities straight.
