How much editing is too much 2 pix attached

I was asked if I could fix this photo, fix the cracks and fill in the missing parts.
They want the color to stay the same, I offered to change it to B&W but they want it as is.

So you'll see I got a lot done, when should I stop? I have already done as asked but a lot more could be done.

If you want to play with it, feel free,

Whew ... that is a tuff one bdk.

My ole eyes thinks you did well with scratches and fills, but there seems to be more noise.

I agree 100% im thinking about starting over, that noise is tough to get rid of, The good news is, its being printed 4x6 and at that size a lot of the noise vanishes.

I took a shot at it. It could be better but I ran out of time.

As some of the edits have shown, softness isn't the killer that the noise is. Keep the Contrast and Clarity up but ease off with the sharpening (too much will do more harm than good). You could also zoom in on the faces and do some brush work on them to keep the features clear but de-noise to soften somewhat.

What was done to introduce so much noise? It appears soft so any De-Noising program will most likely soften it some more. His left foot looks contorted, it's a copy of his right foot. To get a professional finished copy may require the client taking it to an artist or to a photo lab that specializes in doing these on a more regular basis then you do. I know that it will cost a whole more but if it was mine I'd want it done right. Nice try but the IQ of the original is better then your copy, this is a tough order and apparently above your skill set.

What you have there doesn't appear like too much PP to me. In fact I'd say this is a beautiful representation of what the original perhaps looked like. Nice going.
