Trade Down, Trade Up, Trade down

I find it interesting how things always seem to work out.

A few years ago Olympus announced their new 7-14mm f2.8 lens for m4/3. Being an owner of the 7-14mm f4 (original 4/3rds), I decided to sell it before it lost too much value. To replace it I used my 7.5mm fisheye along with 12mm on my 12-40 f2.8 lens (not quite the same). Last week I saw that someone wanted to trade their Panasonic 7-14 f4 lens for the Fisheye lens (plus cash), so I decided to do this, since I really missed the 7-14mm range, but in actuality it wasn't the lens I wanted. It arrived on Monday, however, since I had just left for a 3 day trip I wasn't going to be able to use it until today. In the meantime, this past Tuesday I saw that someone wanted to downgrade from the Olympus 7-14 f2.8 to the Panasonic 7-14 lens (plus cash)...needless to say, I went for it. In the end I got the lens I originally wanted a few years ago, at a much discounted rate.

Funny how it worked out.

Good deal!

There are rumors of a new Panasonic Leica lens in that range... 8-18mm f/2.8-f/4, supposedly available this Fall.
