Here are some baseball pictures of my brothers team that I took. The whole time was called the "Teams Personal Paparazzi". Anyways, tell me what you think :)

For me,

1. Needs faster shutter speed to stop the blur.
2. Needs interest. A players foot and zoom in tighter or some kind of player action.
3. For me, not an interesting view.

Where were you when taking the last one?
Baseball is fun to shot!!!

That does not look like third base to me....I played semi pro ball until I was 38 years old and that is definitely not third base. It closely resembles first base

Thanks for the constructive criticism, it does help. :) And to the person who tried to tell me that wasn't third base, you are wrong. I took that picture, sitting right next to third. I know what I was taking a picture of.

I can't figure out how that's third base either, but the poster says it is.
I assume we are looking at the base from the outfield side?
Looks like some telephoto compression may be throwing our perspective off.

The relation of the white line to the bag sure does look like first base, but I could seldom get to first base, so.....

First image has too much blur and the background is too dominant.
Whatever base it is does not seem interesting.
I understand the concept of #3, but the image just is not there - cars in the background ruin the mood. Even in sports images - maybe MOSTLY in sports images - background is very important.

I was in the outfield and that may be what is throwing you guys off.. but yes, it is third base. on our field, if it was first base, the white line would be painted on the opposite side

I do believe that the pic was taken from the outfield side of 3rd base, with that observation based on how the grass and dirt are 'shaped' around the base. First base would have more infield dirt on the far side of the base from this position. Also, it is obvious that these are for SCHOOL or YOUTH situations and for some years now the first base is usually marked differently. DEFINITELY a 3rd base bag.

Pic 1 definitely needs higher speed, maybe a monopod to help keep the camera still and "on target"

Pic 2 is the type of close up that I sometimes get when I am trying to capture location detail in more of a documentary style. Getting a foot or hand in there would help make it more of an 'event' photo showing the action.

Pic 3 for me is a good image of an individual player on a school team, showing how they are reacting to their part in the game at that point. Definitely a pic that would hold the interest of the family and the team more than the general public from a "PRO" standpoint.

Other than the out of focus pitcher in the first pic, I really do like these photos.

You sir are correct. I only played until I was 22 but have been shooting baseball for more than 5 years and that is 1st base..............

If it's 3rd base then why isn't the basepath going towards homeplate which would be to the right not the left??

Keep at it JessieNoel.
You need a bit more work on technique and also try to always be aware of your background.

But you are doing the right thing getting out there and taking pics, that's the way to gain more experience and confidence.

Shoot as much stuff as you can (sports are good experience) and you will see your images improve, guaranteed.

Looks like it's all been said... with the exception of 1st base. :-) For those who think it's 1st base, I'm just curious how you could be so sure? I don't (have never) played baseball (yes, I was born and raised in the US...). Does the actualy third base bag look differently than first? Again, I'm just curious.
