Off topic- we used to call them stupidbakers. If I remember correctly many of them had Chevy power plants.

For the first time in many, many years I have the opportunity to attend the Annual Studebaker Drives Club show in South Bend. And have decent camera equipment, lens to photograph the cars. I plan on using my 10-20mm and 18-50mm Sigma lens's.

Since cars parked for display can be notoriously hard to get the "right" shot, too close together, too many people in the way, I am looking for anyone who has learned some points for getting the shot.

Thanks,
Ken

No problem..........Arrive before the show begin. Establish a repoir with the car owners and arrange to shoot the cars before they hike the hoods up. Offer to get at least 1 shot with the car(s) and owner(s) together.

Another Hobby that costs more than photography, my advice, shoot low, use a polarize filter, if u have a macro lens use it on the fine detail.
and talk to and make friends with the owner.

As in the above pics, try shooting real low or real high. Maybe put your camera on a monopod, set the self timer for 10 secs, and hold the camera way high. May take a couple of shots to get it right. Also good for a speaker in front of a crowd if you are stuck in the rear.

A lot of good advice already given here. As long as you're going there, try to check out the Studebaker Museum there, it's worth the time, but the cars inside there are really jammed in close. You'll probably have better opportunities with the outside Show venue.

Here's a few from the Museum.

As PO stated, a good polarizer filter is a real asset.

All good suggestions. Get cars as they enter. At pebble beach concours always get there by dawn. You will be rewarded.

Maybe you can use this one!

That's a Studebaker? It looks more like an on Volvo.

I'm a big lover in specular highlights produced by chrome and the sun.
