I saw something like this in Italy some years ago in Abano Terme which is why I thought hot spring. Steam even came out of the ground which gave a surreal quality to the hotel grounds. Unfortunately the only camera I had was a 16mm Arriflex... and the director would not have liked me knocking off a 400' load on a pile of steam "We're shooting a corporate promo, Chas, not a bloody horror film!"

The food is pretty wonderful too, although their drivers are barking mad. It's the only country where the passengers give hand signals, the most common being hands clasped in prayer and the sign of the cross!
