Shoot in RAW, do post production in "Camera Raw", which is a plugin for Photoshop. Move the "Highlights" slide to the left and your problems are fixed.....JC

Whatever technique you choose to use, having a camera with a high dynamic range will help. If you're taking the shots in any kind of professional context it might be worth spending the money to get better equipment. As the following DXOmark comparison shows, the T6i is outclassed in every area by the Nikon and the Sony. The D5500 is also significantly cheaper.

I have had great results by adding flash. Also HDR can be the way to go. Try both and see how u make out.

I am learning to do photography for my realtor wife. I frequently encounter the problem of shooting against windows from inside a less than well-lit room. Particularly when doing a multi-frame panoramic. I am using a Canon Rebel T6i with 10-22mm wide angle lens. Help please.

Windows in a shot is a problem often. With your camera on a tripod, I suggest that you start by taking a good exposure of the window, then bracket ( taking shots at different aperture settings) each shot 1 stop lower. IF you have LR, merge the 3 shots, and then open them up in HDR (high dynamic range), http://photoshopcafe.com/Lightroom-HDR-tutorial If you don't have Adobe LR you can get both Photoshop and Lightroom for $10.00 a month.
