I shot these my Olympus e- M1 M2 and processed them A few minutes later or tomorrow iPhone. All in all I think they came out pretty good but I find suggestions to be the number one thing to help me get better. So what do you have in the way of constructive suggestions?

If you think that is good, why do you ask?

1) Way over exposed, use a fill flash next time. Way over processed
2) Bad composition, color balance is off, over processed, color balance is worse
3) Lucky you the B&W saves the day.

And oh, next time post in gallery or any other section that allows for a feedback.

I asked because I would like them to be better and I am at that stage of my life where I am willing to obtain and seeking to get constructive criticism.

Yours was certainly helpful, well thought out, encouraging, and offered me many good suggestions. Now if you could learn to phrase it in some type of less dramatic English it might be better. You note that the black-and-white saved me. Actually they're just photographs and I didn't need to be saved. Have a nice day

One of the problems with selfies is that you cannot see your background. Your girl is chained, you have a bit of a pier pointing at you... etc. Your edits have improved them somewhat.

To improve 'what you take'....check out blogs on composition by various photo magazines etc. Consider placing your girl 'where the picture' will be better and then joining her.... Check out that there is nothing 'odd' that needs taking out FIRST. it is easier to move a yard than post process later.
Think about 'bright lights'....it will take your camera longer 'to settle' on the right shutter speed..not if everything is bright, but when it is a mixed setting.

You need to understand where and how your camera works. How to have got you and the bridge in focus...that would have made the first shot the keeper, as it shows 'where you were' rather than the cropped image. There will be settings that you can programme for 'different shots'. explore those, that will tell you when you can take a shot where everything is sharp front to back and when 'the subject is sharp and the background is fuzzy (in a nice way). (read about different apertures....not that a cell has them BUT it will have settings that achieve similar things.

If you have a delayed timer....set up the shot and then walk into it. You can make a tripod out of a piece of card or a can bent in half!

Look at links and resources at the top of the page and list out useful websites like COOPH (?) where camera hacks are regularly uploaded.

Your girl is pretty and smiling what more to life is there?
Have fun

Hi, there! I think these shots are basically okay. However, your first posting is overexposed, the second one less so. You should (and can) reduce exposure in whatever software you are using (e.g., Lightroom, etc.

the pictures are over exposed or Blown out in the backgrounds the shadows on your face from the hat is a no no. You are taking this picture when the sun is high in the sky and is always a bad time to take a picture. never the less you guys are a handsome couple
