I just called Panasonic and was told The Panasonic Lumix FZ150 has been discontInued. I was told I could possibly purchase it on line.

He had no information as to whether there was going be an upgrade. I looked at the Coolpix P510 this morning. Honestly it looked cheap and the zoom was often out of focus. Therefore I am back to square one. The FZ150 had five star reviews by several reviewers. Why would it be discontinued?

Check for a used or refurbished on Adorama.

They must have a replacement they think will sell better. I have had a couple of high-zoom Panasonics and am quite satisfied with them. My present one doesn't have a viewfinder though and I won't make that mistake again.

I bought my wife a refurbished P500 a few months back. She is delighted with it. The P500/10 is a complex camera so it may take a little practice to have the settings where you want them and use the focusing correctly.

Usually out of focus problems are user induced. Image stabilization helps but if you are using the zoom capabilities of these cameras you are asking for a lot to expect tack sharp photos...especially if you aren't using a tripod.

Of course the P500 images are soft relative to my D5100 and ISO is limited to 400.

The FZ150 is a great little camera. I got one for my wife and she won a local photography contest her first time out with it. The sharpness is incredible and the zoom is awesome. Will shoot RAW as well. Good luck finding one as I know you will like it.

That's the name of the game. They will add something to the new model and sell it to people who have the FZ150. The FZ150 is just as good as it always was, and you can probably find one for a lower price now. Amazon is advertising it for $439.

In the last two minutes, I exited this site and logged onto Amazon.com.
This Panasonic Lumix FZ150 is available in either new or used.

Well i have to back up the Nikon P510 as i own one...i think the build quality is fine and it takes sharp picture's through the entire focal range....i have no problem taking a sharp pic without a tripod.... infact i don't use a tripod.....also takes good pic's @ ISO800 as seen below taken at Full Zoom....the panasonic is another great camera for a 24x zoom (only let down) but the Fz200 should be better.

ISO 800

I have the FZ200 pre-ordered. Can't wait and I hope it is as good as expected. I do wish it had a larger zoom. I pre-ordered on the advice of UHH

I will when the weather cools down. These 100+ temps in Phoenix tend to get an old man down.

A question for FZ150 owners; I am looking to get a FZ200 but the specs don't give a filter size. Can you get a polarizing filter attached without some kind of adapter?

I just read off a blog the filter sizes was 52 mm. Seems small, but that is what a photographer stated.
