Once again, late to the party !!
Great set !!
Thanks !

Thank you Steve and appreciate you taking the time to view and respond and especially at this time of the year seems like I'm almost always really late! Between company, yardwork, and just trying to enjoy a little time outside in the Spring, my favorite season, I'm in the boat with you and last night when I started responding I was 19 pages behind and finally caught up, but know that I missed many great images! Thanks again and take care! Corky

Martin, Our first one came in late January 20i6! I was using the computer and my wife happen to view the mealworm feeder and spotted this different and very beautiful bird! About in mid march if was joined by another one that was molting, and was not really sure about it's sex! They both departed about mid April, and we kept out the half oranges and also the jelly feeder for at least the next two months hoping they would return, but did not see another one until Mid December of 2016. He was joined by another male in late March and both left in mid April, to our disappointment, as we were hoping that a female was around and perhaps they would nest somewhere near, and we seem to meet the conditions such as being around water with a fairly large natural area and most birding maps showed us in their possible nesting area, although being fairly close to the edge of it. Since then I have read that placing some fairly short six inch pieces of yarn in a container such as used to hold suet will sometimes encourage them to nest in the area, so if we are fortunate enough to have them return a third time will give it a try! The one thing that I have passed on to people living in their possible nesting areas is what initially attracted the first one was the dried mealworms! We had originally started using them to attract more bluebirds to stay around after the nesting season and they still feed at it every day, but it's also a great attraction to the orioles, and even after we added orange halves and grape jelly they would still also feed on the mealworms. Take care and love your beautiful work!

All images were taken early this morning as the dogwood tree blooms were beginning to open.
