I purchased a refurbished Canon 7D from B&H about one week ago. Last night the the LCD on the back of the camera displayed the drive mode (single shot, il servo, etc. and the timer) displays as 99 and 999. Today the top LCD displays the ISO as 999. I plan on calling B&H when the open tomorrow and will exchange it. Has anyone had this happened to anyone???

B&H will take care of you, especially since you have had it just a week. If things get dicey with them, just mention UHH, and they'll probably give you a new 5D III.

Thank you. This is helpful info! If it were you, would you ask for a replacement or let them walk you through the steps to update the firmware?

I would begin, in a nice way, by asking for another camera. You've had this one a short time, and have had a problem already, regardless how "minor" it might be. Mention that you bought from them because of recommendations from a photo forum. I'm sure one camera body is no big deal to them, compared to their reputation.

However, it is something very minor, then they can talk you through it. But, it should either be working, or a new camera should be in the works by the time you hang up.

"I'd hate to go back online and tell all those people who recommended you that they were wrong."

I was going to ask about shutter actuations, but that can be difficult with a Canon.

sorry to hear of the problems with the 7D, I think the outcome should be favorable because you bought from a reputable place, let us know how it works out.

Good morning!!! Just got off the phone with B&H and they were amazing as predicted. They only question they asked was what did I want to do; exchange or return??? I opted for exchange since I am loving this camera. They emailed me a prepaid shipping label and said they would send out the new one within 2 days of receipt.

I asked if they have issues with refurbished cameras regardless of the brand (e.g., nikon, canon, etc.) ;) and they said it happens with all brands. Buying refurbished is as good a buying new. The equipment is refurbished by the manufacuter; but can not be sold as new. He said that we could purchase a brand new piece of equipment which might not work properly right out of the box.

THis is an example of why we should purchase only from the reptutal sites/stores. I'll be setting up another post later today describing my experience.

Thanks all!!!

That's fantastic, it further proves as you stated " THis is an example of why we should purchase only from the reptutal sites/stores."

So you are saying that every Nikon camera ever made is still working and none have ever had any problems? Wow, you have made me a believer! Does anyone want all my Canon equipment since it obviously is nothing but junk?
