Geese can be vicious. Be careful when there are chicks around. The same applies to swans.

nice shot :) There is a pond with some geese within walking distance of my house that I want to start photographing when the babies are here. Yes, from previous experience they are very protective of their young and can be quite aggressive. I plan on using a looong lens on this project!

A swan killed a man in England. He was a worker at a swan sanctuary, paddling across a pond near nests with little ones. A swan tipped over his kayak, and he drowned.
We have lots of geese by the reservoir, and when they have chicks, there is always one standing guard, looking around.
