The case fell apart as I opened it, but I found one "in good condition" on Ebay and it should be here today. The camera itself appears to be in excellent condition. I even have the manual! Apparently the Mamiya C22 was released in 1966 and replaced by the C220 in 1968. The next step is to buy some 120 film, fire some shots and get them developed. Stay tuned...

Very cool! I've had my eye out for one at a reasonable price for some time now.

Nice find. I bet a shoemaker, if you can find one, could repair the case. I had a similar Yashika.

Nice find. Now, for about $100 you can get enough equipment to develop your own film, black and white anyways.

Maybe someday, I did that in my youth when I had my Nikon FTN with fairly good results. But for now, I'm thinking Tempe Camera .

Tempe Camera doesn't do color film anymore, lack of demand. They still do black and white, as far as I know. Another possibility is Art Intersection in Gilbert, Az. You can rent darkroom time there. The price is quite reasonable, too. I've toured the facilities and they have some very nice equipment available.

If the lenses are dirty you can use q-tips with alcohol to clean them, followed by q-tips and distilled water. You'll have fun using that old classic.

Remember that the strap functions as a stabilizer when under tension, so replace the leather one with a sturdy piece of woven or corded material. That will probably be determined by the fasteners or your fastening method. I love it, and wish you the best luck with it. Also for mail order processing try The Darkroom in California. A quick mail turn around.

The case won't be all that difficult to repair yourself. I've done a few over the years. A rainy day project. But to be safe, you may want to replace the strap with something newer; those thin leather straps tend to rip unexpectedly after so many years, even if they look okay.

A cobbler, saddle maker or take it to a local Tandy Leather shop and ask them if they know of anyone that might be interested in repairing it for you. You might also google leather crafters and see if you can find someone that way.

The Mamiya C22 was the first 120 roll film camera that I owened. Bought used in Okinawa 1968 for $95.00 it had a 105mm lens. You'll love using this camera, a big seperation
from auto-degital these days. Rugged and well made. In 1969 I moved on to HASSELBLAD, killer equipment! CIAO, AP

I owned a C330, bought in 1970. Great camera. Good luck.

On some of the older cameras I found the seal around the film chamber all crumbly. Check to make sure that is intact, if your camera uses those.
