I may have posted in error, I was posting to the person who refereed to someone else as a two toothed hillbilly. I felt the comment was unwarranted and simply wished to point that out.

I understood that you were talking to the person that called me a 'two toothed hillbilly'.

I was only trying (with failed humor) to show that it was not his fault; obviously the people that should have educated and taught him better failed.

I actually have more than two teeth and I did not grow up in Kentucky.

You must understand the poster lives in New Mexico. New Mexico ranks 49th in education.

Every Death You Take

A list of statistics showing the leading causes of death in the United States through June 2016 includes some questionable aspects.

A graphic purportedly showing the leading causes of death in the United States during the first half of 2016 was widely circulated on Facebook in June 2016, its most eye-catching feature being that the number one entry was a******n while the lowest-ranked entry was murder by firearm:

(causes of death graph goes here...)

The list was problematic in several aspects, however. First of all, the displayed figures for 2016
are simply projections based on past trends, as up-to-date information of this nature simply isn’t available. The most recent report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) concerning causes of death tallies mortality data from 2014.

Second, although this list (put together by the web site Romans322.com) relies heavily upon mortality data compiled by the CDC, that organization does not record a******n as a cause of death. The leading causes of death in the United States in 2014, according to CDC, were heart disease, cancer, and respiratory disease:

Heart disease: 614,348
Cancer: 591,699
Chronic lower respiratory diseases: 147,101
Accidents (unintentional injuries): 136,053
Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases): 133,103
Alzheimer’s disease: 93,541
Diabetes: 76,488
Influenza and pneumonia: 55,227
Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and nephrosis: 48,146
Intentional self-harm (suicide): 42,773
During that same year the FBI recorded 8,124 murders by firearms in the United States, a statistic that would indeed rank below all other entries on this list.

The usefulness of this information to make a point about gun issues is somewhat questionable, however.

None of the entries on the list save for the last involves intentional k*****g, while nearly every other entry on the list other than the last references some form of medical malady. It’s an inescapable fact that everyone who manages to avoid being k**led (intentionally or otherwise) by someone or something else first will eventually die of some sort of medical condition.

So you are saying that a******ns are accidental, natural events, and they don't cause death?

And just think of all the millions of potential human lives that get splattered on a wall, rubbed into a dirty sock, or washed down the shower drain!

Well, Texans are trying to do something about these tragedies! $100 fine for each unregulated emission!

Here in Missouri we indeed have many Hillbilly's missing many teeth, however someone who simply spits out derogatory terms would be surprised to learn that among that group are many who are resourceful, creative, and intelligent, and you can't learn intelligence.
These people have been poor all their lives and have succeeded in living productive lives with their ability to make do with what they have, I find this trait honorable as well as practical.
I talked to one old gentleman who told me that around here we never knew there was a depression, it was just live a usual.
I admire and enjoy these people and many would benefit from their life experience.

Could you document where these figures are from?

I notice suicide isn't on the list, but I'm appalled at the number of medical mistakes.

Over all, I suspect these numbers; please tell us where you got them.

Looks like the work of the 700 club or possibly Breitbarf!!!

Where do you think I said that?

I posted a Snopes article not my thoughts.

On the other hand, I don't think that a******ns are accidental, but I do support a******n. The issue you raise--probably without meaning to--is this: At What Point Does Life Begin?

It's not so easy a point as (I assume) you will paint it.

Some of life's most unanswerable questions concern things so common you can't believe it. For example, What Is Time?

Another is, What Is Life? Or When Does Life Begin?

I know you say, Life begins at Conception, but that is a sham answer--at least in my opinion.

I believe A******n is an important option and it should be protected, probably it should be more common.

I agree it's claiming to refer to human life. But the fact is, that the vast majority of a******ns, are carried out on a few stem cells, that haven't yet been assigned a purpose. I don't think you can count them as humans at that stage.

I'd like to see where you get your statistics.

Furthermore....you may not think that I can count fetuses as humans, but you're wrong.

You may see an unborn human as not human and see an animal as not food, but that does not mean that you are correct. That is opinion, not fact, and it happens to differ from my opinion.

And...no one can settle an argument by offering an opinion. To do that you need answers.

A******n is a very complex question, full of simplifications and emotional turmoil, but without clear logical answers, as previous debate has proved.

I'm not debating the opinion of whether or not a******n is k*****g a human or not.

The problem I have is the insistence that animals not of the human species belong on the OPs list.

Focus. Read. Comprehend.Think. Express yourself appropriately and relevantly. Receive respect.

I don't believe that the statistics are available, and even if they were, they would be disputed. I agree that it's debatable as to when a fertilized ovum becomes a human being.

The only reason anyone would dispute when a fertilized ovum becomes a human being is that they are attempting to justify the taking of a life. It seem that liberals are quite adept at justifying most anything that they wish to do.

Do you believe that lack of solid proof, in this (or any) case, is solid ground on which to base an argument?

I certainly don't.

You know, I never thought of it that way!
I will have to rethink my position on a******n. Just think, NO Keenan, Dirt, Nakkh and the rest of that trash.
