Here's a couple of images of high alpine in late autumn.

Very nice! # 1 especially. Highest I've climbed is just over 6000 ft(Mt Washington)in winter but don't know if I have a 14 in me.

Mt Washington is one of the toughest due to the extreme weather up there, even at 6k.
Bravo. One I've always wanted to try.

Also - as I'm a relative landlubber living near sea level, zipping up to 14K' would give me great concerns over HAPE and HACE.

We hiked high enough to stand on a glacier on Labor Day weekend with our son who was stationed at a Navy shipyard in the area then.
