I only recently found this site, It's great to such a diverse selection of photographers.
I am currently getting a panel of photographs together for a qualification with the Royal Photographic Society. I look forward to seeing whats happening on 'Ugly Hedgehog' every day and I must say I really enjoy the photos. I do feel envious of you guys in the USA, you have some mind blowing scenery

Nice crisp photos. Like them all. Yes ! there are many wonderful and scenic places to photographs in the USA but so there are also beautiful places everywhere in the world. All depends on what you are looking for . We are also envious of your English landscapes since we both have a history together. Been to England a number of times so now you come and visit here. Welcome to the UHH Normanc.

Thank you for your comments. I haven't been to the USA , however, it is on my to do list. I agree, there are beautiful places all over the world, I believe that seeing the same places all the time does make a person complacent and you don't always appreciate what is on your doorstep.
Thanks again for you comments.
By the way, the most photogenic country that I have ever been to was without doubt Norway...truly majestic

I am originally from Estonia ...am also aware of the beauty of the Baltic and Scandinavian areas. My favorite areas of the world to photograph are the tropics and the Far East . Am a Vietnam veteran and have photos of much of the areas in question. My main areas of interest as a youth were underwater photos and have done many as a diver with the Cousteau Society. I consider the world my "Oyster "and so enjoy photos of all the places I visit. What camera system do you use?

Hi Hando,
I have visted Tallin twice now it always reminds be of something from Walt Disney with the lovely coloured rooves and buildings. I have spent a few hours in a small cafe in Short leg street. I have travelled quite a lot throughout Europe and the middle East. One of my passions is Ancient Egypt and have spent a number of years trying to learn to read hieroglyphs. I use a Canon 50d ( small sensor, shutter guaranteed for 100,000 operations ) and Canon 'L' series lenses. I find the 'L' series lenses head and shoulders above the normal lens, but at a cost, still, I suppose you get what you pay for.!
I was in Port Said last year, what a dry, dirty, filthy hole that was !. It really makes you appreciate the nicer places.
More of my favourite places are Venice and Florence, not too keen on Rome because EVERY time I have been there the rain has been torrential.
I have never tried underwater photography, I suppose the cost is quite prohibitive.

Welcome! Love the old bridge. They are a thing from the past that will never be built again. It is a lost art. Folks have to have it done fast now. And that is sad. Love to see more of your country.

Super photos. What did you do to afford this time off to visit all these wonderful places ? I am a retired teacher and used my summer vacations for my backpacking. When the Russians invaded Estonia we fled as DP`s and as a result our family is scattered all over the world. My aunt lives in Johannesburg,my cousin Vello live in Adelaide Australia, another one in Norway,Sweeden and in the USA,California. Travel for me was cheap because I had all these places to stay for free lol. I shoot both Nikon D300 , Canon 5D MarkII with almost all L series lenses. If you happen to have a photo of my former country and would not mind sharing it with me it would be highly appreciated. Photo #1 should be framed if not already done so ! Went to your bio site and now know that you were in the police force. My family is almost all military as is my nephew who graduated from West Point...Like Sandhurt? ...not sure of spelling. Again ...you have a good eye for beauty...

Welcome! I feel the way about Europe that you do about the USA! What we consider "old" here is nothing compared to over there.
