A few miles west of Taos, NM is the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge (aka Gorge Bridge or High Bridge) which lays claim as the 2nd highest bridge in the U.S. Highway system. I'm sure there is a qualifier in the translation. It's a controversial site for its construction, scenic overlook and number of suicides. We visited this spot while the weather was transitioning with each footstep. The real sight for me was the bus near the end of the bridge. Never saw anyone go near it, nor anyone operating it. To this day I just wonder...WHO?...would feel comfortable enough to patronize this self-proclaimed horn of plenty? Would you?

Very spectacular sight, and love the atmosphere in the bus photograph.
I would try the food.
:-)
That bus shot is extremely cool!
Wonderful set and I especially love the roadside bus!!!

Good to hear you liked them. Glad I had a camera. Can you imagine trying to describe that to someone without being able to show what it was?

....and that's exactly why I always carry a pocket camera with me!
I've walked half-way across that bridge a few times - in the very center on the double yellow. An extreme fear of heights prevents me from looking over; however, I've seen lots of crazy people do so. I might step into the bus just to see what they offer. If it's clean inside I might be persueded to buy an ice cream cone or bar.
I think that bus is full of stories... and the cloud a constellation of thought balloons...
Nice shots, both- thanks for taking them
Was there last fall - not near the interesting sky you had. I converted my image to B&W because the land was very dry and uninteresting. I don't remember seeing that bus, but your shot is spectacular. An awesome sky for backdrop.

Indeed, the gorge was deeper than expected and the perspective was enlarged when you stood overlooking the rails. Often wonder why you can get a feeling that when you are that high, there is an urge to jump - even when you know you wont. The menu seemed to be the bus and vice versa, so that was enough for me. Thanks for your visit and comments, DragonsLady.
