Hoping someone can help me since I've checked Search and nothing seems to apply to my issue!
After doing some initial edits in LR5, I have used Edit In to move my image into Elements 14 and done some cloning there. When I used Save to move it back to LR, it disappears! I can find the cloned image in the file on my hard drive, but not in LR! I read that in the Preferences menu for external editing, I should uncheck the Stack with Original box, which I did do, but even then the cloned image is not there!
Thank you so much for any help you can give me.
Can we assume that you get a window like the one below, and that you're editing a copy with LR adjustments?
What I find is that if you just close Elements (I have PSE 12) at the end of the edit (by clicking on the X in the top right corner), it automatically returns the edit to LR to sit beside the original in the film strip at the bottom (i.e. in the same folder in the catalog). It's possible that using "Save as" bypasses that automatic return and instead saves the edit to the location of your choice.
I'm not sure how much of that is me setting it up to do that because my PSE saves the edit as a tiff which I suspect isn't the default (it's been a long time since I set Elements up to do what I want it to do).
I hope there's something there that helps.

Thanks for your replies. It turned out to be a very busy day, and I just got home so I could read your suggestions. I'm grateful for your replies and I assure you that I'll read through them and carefully try your suggestions. Thanks again.
Thanks, R.G. for your reply. I have tried your suggestion, but I still can't see my edited photo in the filmstrip!
When I don't click on Save, but just click on the x in the top corner, nothing gets saved.
I do see a box like the one you made the screen shot of at the beginning of the process, though.
Thanks again for trying to help.

Sometimes mine end up at the END of the slide strip and sometimes they come back in right beside the original. No clue why it's not always the same, but look at the end of the strip. Once I had to reimport the adjusted one, but that was a real fluke. And yes, don't forget to click SAVE in your PS program! My friend was simply exiting and couldn't figure out why the adjustments weren't there.
Hallelujah, that DID it! I was changing the file type when I exported it to LR!
Thank you SO much!
