Help I've fallen and can't get up!

This little one must have fallen from it's nest. I put him in a shrub so that hopefully none of the stray cats will find him.

Appears to be a juvenile Robin. Just leave it alone and its parents will continue to care for it. As chicks get larger they often leave the nest while trying out their wings and get into trouble. Young birds are cared for by the parents well after they can fly. You can often see the parent bringing food to young that are full sized. Most often you will hear the young begging the parent to feed it. Kind of like our own teenagers!

I agree that it appears to be a juvenile Robin. Just had the same thing happen in my back yard 2 weeks ago. I did not touch it but watched it and got some photos of it.

Ever wonder why an old bird nest is always clean looking inside? The babies back up to the edge of the nest to poop. They sometimes fall when doing this. They are not always trying to fly. Some do it in the nest & the mama carries it out. Good shot of young one.
