I want to do some stroboscopic photography using my nikon 900sb flash. Pocket wizards will not let use RPT(multi flash)
Looked up this feature is not available even with my two ttlflex 5 . Do you all have any suggestions, and please be detailed
I am a technical idiot.

Are you wanting to get multiple flashes to show an event in process? I don't know of any normal camera strobe that will do that. Camera strobes are generally designed to light up until they have reached a given exposure level, or run out of stored energy, in a single pulse.

Camera strobes (or off-camera flash) have relatively brief pulse times, generally less than one millisecond. That is probably okay for "stopping" things in motion that are moving less than five or ten feet per second (the motion blur would be 120 inches/sec *1/1000 second, or .12 inches at most for these cases).

If your goal is to stop faster events, you will need a faster flash and some kind of flash trigger. Super-short flash photography is quite an art form, and generally requires special-purpose tools to accomplish. If you want to take images that show multiple positions of a moving object, you would want a flash with a short duration and high repetition rate. I have used old "Strobotach" units for that. You can occasionally find a working strobotach on Ebay. Note that the individual flashes aren't very bright, so you end up working mostly in the dark.

Good luck!

The Yongnuo's YN-568 and the YN-685 both support HSS - High-speed Synchronization if that's what you are looking for.

Jelecroy and Wayne, you're both missing the point. Do a Google image search for stroboscopic flash or multi flash photography. Many common flashes have a multi setting. You set the number of flashes and the duration of each to get multiple exposures with one shot. I have Yongnuos that will do that. You'Lloyd usually see this done with a dark background and little if any ambient light.

I don't have the equipment backroadgirl is asking about, so can't offer specific advice.

OddJobber is correct, I want multi flashes in one frame. It shows motion but with some still like properties. My flash will do it on camera, but my pocket wizards will not allow the
setting off camera. I know people have done this with speadlights of camera, because I have seen videos of it done.
