This was very interesting to read, since I am totally blind in my left eye and have some retina issues in my right eye. Whether or not it will ever get tested and approved for use in humans any time soon to help me is another matter. Hopefully my good eye will not get worse any time in the near future, but knowing that something is being worked on is somewhat of a relief.

But it seems it would only find use in cases where the Rods & Cones no longer generated any signals to the incident light ?
If there was damage to the retinal nerve structure (the wiring to the visual cortex in the occipital lobe) such as in a CRAO or CRVO, this technology might not be helpful.
