I've just learned that in addition to developing film with Folgers Instant Coffee, I can alternate to BEER.

I wonder what the beer cottage industry alternative brews will allow in film developing. I'm going to read this thoroughly:

How many more will return to film after this. You simply cannot have this much fun with Digital. Dump Digital. Party in your Darkroom!!!

Well, why this gentleman did not write his article when I was working with film? I agree with you, it would have been lots of fun.
I have only one objection here. I know that experimenting with developers and film is a necessity to find the best time of developing for the highlights when working with b&w film. That obviously also requires to know at what EI the film yields the best images when exposing for the shadow areas. How that is going to work with beer I do not really know.
I noticed a little bit more grain than I would like to. I also noticed that highlight control was not very good although operators errors are always possible. It could be more fun drinking the beer.

Well when I was really in to film processing, that would have been in the mid '50s of which me and my bud were to young to buy beer, however I suppose I could have copped a couple of my Dad's Southern Select beers. LOL Actually we had a tough time scraping up coin for processing chemicals for milk money took to long.
