Has anyone seen the film yet? I loved the book, and can't wait to see it over here. If you have, what did you think of it?

While I have not either read the book or seen the movie, my wife read the book when it first came out and is not interested in seeing the movie, much for the reasons mentioned in the link in dmc's reply.

Another point of view/review on the movie (from Focus on the Family) can be found at: http://www.pluggedin.com/movie-reviews/the-shack-2017

I burned my copy as I didn't want to pass on to anyone. Was troubled as I began book, did not finish. Just had that feeling.

As a Pastor, some friends asked me to read the book a few years back to see what I thought of it. I tried, read a few chapters but found it so unbiblical I could not get into it. I would not recommend the book, or the movie from the reviews I've read of it. It may be popular, but it does not represent the truth about God or Christianity.

Matthew 7: 15 "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves."

I think as long as you are centred in scripture there's no problem with it. It helped me with understanding the Trinity, can't to see the film. Thanks for the replies.

I read this book when it first became popular and must admit that I was quite taken by its extremely powerful emotional appeal.
However, some years down the line, and with the benefit of further study and a degree of maturing, I feel now that this is all it was...an appeal to the emotions.
My view now is that the book presents an image of a New Age god while counterfeiting the authentic Christian faith.
I recommend you do your due diligence by reading ABOUT the book by respected and trusted sources first so you know ahead of time what you are dealing with.
In hindsight, I believe it distorts the foundational core of the Christian faith in a seductively plausible way.
The god of the Shack is absolutely not the God of the Bible.

You must be kidding.

If you got some understanding of the Trinity from the Shack...then you got incorrect information...that's a certainty.

This is just a quick synopsis of the issues that the shack has in regards to the trinity.
