There are some strange ones out there. I shot a wedding where the bachelor party was at a small Nevada brothel. His brother paid for it and had me to come by and get some photos. The following evening at the reception, his friends and brother, were teasing him about getting it up again after last night. His bride was right there laughing and saying, "he damn well better." News flash: The marriage didn't last.
Do this in available light, maybe by candle light no strobes and do it in very low key. If this is indeed an honest request.
Try to make it as romantic as possible, as I'm sure that's what the bride wants. Make yourself as inconspicious as possible.
Try not to show private body parts or penetration unless they want this X rated. And by all means try not to fall off the chair.

I have a client couple who want me to photograph the consummation of their marriage. I've never done this before, but I'm sure there are a few of you Pros out there that have experience at this. Any tips on angles, lighting, location etc. I'm only going to get one shot at this.
Thanks!!
The groom has only one "shot" at it also. Seriously, there's a ton of info out there (and maybe here too) on "boudoir" photography.
This is similar, only with two subjects, more motion, and distracting noises. I would be surprised if some (legitimate) shooter hadn't done this
before, and you'll no doubt find that too. Go forth to Google and YouTube, my son, and you will discover all you seek with the accompanying embarrassment.
Be great to get a follow up on the experience and how it turned out. F*ckography. Who knew? Best of luck. >Alan

Personally, while I have no problem with it, I would suggest some nice romantic bedroom shots which would emphasize love and tenderness and not just sex. Photos which might include nudity but which might also include photos that could be hung on the wall...placed on the wall...

Debbie... Dallas, is there not a porn movie with that?
Obviously, you're too young to know that one.

What is wrong with being honest and simply say 'while they have sex'?
I suppose because that is another euphamism. 'while they copulate' is the correct term.....

Anti fogging tissues for your lenses.
The consummation of a marriage is an event in one's life that can occur only one time. While many of the comments on this thread are good natured humor it is not really all that surprising that some persons might want to document that one-time-in-their-lives event along with the rest of the pictorial documentation of their marriage. Not really sure whom they might want to show the pictures to, but nonetheless it represents a wonderful loving event. Obviously they know you/trust you enough to ask this very personal favor, so I would recommend you do the best you can for them.

Actually, the original "consummation" is equally correct. If in doubt, look it up.
