I see them do it, I run them off. I hear them laughing as they jump over the fence, beyond any of my feeble attempts to move them further along. They look at me as to say, "What Now. Will you deprive my fawn a meal?" I look to my right and think, "No I cannot."
I plant a few for the wildlife...away from my garden...Photo ops and harmony...combine layers....lol.
You know...my wife gets so mad at them for eating our plants but they are so cute I just can't be mad.
Hope you have a farmers market close by.
That's a great idea. Then maybe they'll think I'm not being selfish and to share what mother nature intended. Plus I don't know what would happen if I pursued and they stood their ground. Well, yes I do. I then would become the pursued.

Keep in mind that cute can hurt. I hear they can be very aggressive if provoked. I am seriously considering changing my strategy of chasing them through the yard.

I simply wrap bird netting around the perimeter of the garden. Even though the deer could easily bust right through, they seem to shy away from the touch of the netting.

Interesting "Ghost Windows" on the first image! Cool photo, the baby deer is really cute! Great shots of the Mother, wish I had a yard that looked so Lush! Can't find any here in So. California though... :o(
Great captures! I used to love watching my Grandaddy planting his vegetables every year. He always sang a little song in his beautiful voice " one for the rabbits, one for me- one for squirrels, one for me- one for the birds, one for me". But, he would then sit on his back porch and pick them off one by one with his pellet gun whenever they came to claim theirs.
I live in the boonies here in Washington state and we get a lot of deer in our yard. We have a willow tree they love to munch on. We planted thyme to keep them away, now they have gotten used to it, that willow tree is looking quite Delicious.
