Not the best quality, she/he appeared out of nowhere and disappeared as quickly.
Heavy mist, dark woods, fairly nervous photographer.

I find the word "catch" disconcerting!! There was just one, thankfully.

The closest I ever came to physical injury was being chased by a domestic Black Angus bull. I've had no problems out in the bush.

that is one beautiful animal. Where there is one... I would expect that she knew you were, unless you were being a ghost also. Perhaps she is friendly, if so, we could call her Casper. How far away? Our woods are tame, but a few years ago, a bear went through. I am envious of your ability to be in the bush.

I was using the 70-200 on a 7d, probably 120 feet or so away.

EGADS -- very close - Good job clicking the shutter, I imagine you were holding your breath.

Very lovely, and you convey this beautiful animal as well as the ethereal atmospherics.

You have many options with this one including leaving it as it is.

What a special capture, one of those eternal moments we never forget. Magic!

Though I am not a religious person, I am a spiritual person. The speed that she/he appeared and disappeared was indeed mystical. No sounds, just there and gone. I stayed motionless for about 3 minutes trying to get my breath. I took two shots, this one and one of her/his tail as it disappeared
into the fog.
I wish I had been more alert, but you take what you are given!

With regards to the photo, once it is on here, it goes into my finished file. As with any photo I put on here do what you wish with it.

You were fortunate to experience it, much less get a decent capture.

I've never seen one of these guys in the wild. So, forget about the mist. It is great that you caught that moment. Hats off.
