My wife had cut up an apple to include in our oatmeal this morning, so later in the day I dumped the core on top of the remaining corn in the Squirrel Feeder. Later I looked out and saw that we had a customer {pictures taken through glass door to our deck}

Yes, I wouldn't have posted them if it hadn't been for that one; the other two help setup a "story". This squirrel seems to be terrified of me - as soon as I step outside it runs; looking at these pictures, I see that both ears are somewhat chewed up, so it may have lived a tough life already.

The land we live on is quite fertile. An animal would have to be truly incompetent to starve here. Our {grown}daughters refer to the bird feeder as "bribery" - the birds get food with less effort and I get photo ops. After I finally got a squirrel-proof bird feeder, providing something of their own just seemed like an appropriate way to respond to follow mammals - but I don't expect this to be a matter of life-of-death.

Fun images, rehess! He posed nicely for you; looks like he's thanking you for his dinner.
