The title says it all,Idlike to make a copy of the histogram of 2 pics.
I am currently using PS CC. Anyone have an idea of how to get that into a file or print it out and I'll scan it to a file.
Or maybe another program that will do it?
Thanks

One way would be a screen print (snapshot of your screen via the dedicated key - in Windows, that is).

(edit - oh yeah, the snipping tool! Very handy )

Yup, just bring up the image so that you can see the histogram, hit the print screen key on your keyboard, open a new black page in photoshop, you'll see one that says clipboard so use that one, then paste Ctrl-x, then crop just the histogram and then save. Do the same for the second image.

If you are running Windows, use the Snipping Tool (it is part of the Windows Operating System, at least it is in Windows 7).
To find the Snipping Tool, click on START the type "snipping" in the search box.

Thanks dirtpusher, didn't know this existed - been using "Print Screen" and cropping.

For those Mac users: Shift-Command-4 will give you a cursor which you can use to select a portion of the screen. When you push the enter key you get a jpg of the area selected. The pic is stored on your desktop.

bdk,

There are a few tools within your Windows operating system to assist you in capturing the display on your monitor, there may be some in the software you currently own.
If you need something much more powerful with options to create the capture you need, there are many third party programs ready to download and try.

My personal choice is Snagit from TechSmith, I have been using it since 2006. If you are interested take a look at their video (also made with SnagIt). https://www.techsmith.com/screen-capture.html.

To that I would add that it's in Windows Accessories. I have mine pinned to the taskbar so that it's always easily accessible.

Thanks all that took the time to write. I forgot all about the snipping tool. I'll give that a try.
Thanks again.

Just tried it, does exactly what I needed. I'll be posting histograms with my pix in a few days.

Better if you use CTL + Print Screen, that way you'll only pick up the window (PS, etc).

Snapshot is from Ashampoo software. Older one and similar are free:

I really like a free Browser Add-on called "lightshot" an excellent tool.

I have both a later snapshot [giveawayoftheday was free]

Snipping tool is built in to Windows and works pretty well. You can crop only what you want and save it to a jpg file. Couldn't be easier. Why download something that may be loaded up with spyware? I'm not disparaging the two apps you mentioned but I know a lot of these free apps are set up to download ads or to spy on your browsing habits.
