What to do when your version of PS Elements can't read the raw files and you can no longer update that version

My UHH buddy R.G. had the answer: use the Adobe DNG converter!

I told him I was using the SilkyPix software that came with the Lumix DMC-G7, converting to tif, then opening in Elements ACR. He suggested the dng converter. It is quick and easy, especially if you want to do a folder's worth of raw all at once.

Download and install the latest version of ACR? 9.1 I think
worksfor some people doesn't work for methough.

I have PS Elements 13 and it won't take the update I need for the Lumix's raw files. Rather annoying since I've only had the program a year and a half (I guess it's been out for two and a half years):
