I'm not sure of the fascination with mirrorless. Two items come to mind. Fewer moving parts to cause problems and less vibration from a reflex mirror movement. The lack of vibration could be a slight advantage when shooting hand held at slower shutter speeds. Canon used a system of gears in the "A" series back in the late 70's to dampen mirror caused vibration. I'm not sure if it made much difference but I made a LOT of money on doing repairs for the infamous "shutter squeak" . It had nothing to do with the shutter. It was a gear in the anti-vibration system needing lubrication. I came up with "kit" with an instructional CD and a syringe with a little oil that told "A" series owners how to fix the problem at home in less than 10 minutes. Sold a lot of them on ebay to rave reviews.

It was less biased than others I have seen and so was worth the read.
Yes, it seemed objective.

Good share Mark. There were a few points I might like developed or explained in more depth, but not often you find a seemingly non-biased article. The author is a committed Nikon shooter but almost no reference to anything Nikon.
Thanks for the feedback. My friend is a super photographer in the Raleigh area and has been one of my "gurus" for years. He's extremely knowledgeable and very unbiased with respect to photography.

Thank you for sending this thoughtful article, Mark. I am a committed Olympus user. Have most of their lenses ,except the pricey professional 300mm and the latest zoom. For many years I have used the Canon MK5 and L quality lenses with much satisfaction
but I do not see much difference in the image quality with the landscape shots I take - with the exceptions of low light performance
and blowing up prints to wall size. I print my own with a Epson SC p800 printer.. I am also based in Raleigh.
