Matt, the fox image intrigues me (the bus rider, not so much). It's good subject, with a lot of interest in the pose. If this were mine, however, I'd do some selective dodging and burning to even out the tones the leaves in the background foliage (some very bright, and to the right of the fox, too dark), and to bring the fox into sharper relief, contrasted to pop from the background, and the whole image vignetted to bring attention to the animal. This is where Silver Efex pro with its control points would shine.

Yes, Matt, they are good shots but could use some post processing. Mods for Fox well covered really great nature shot & rare... too many birds in UHH, too few Foxes.

I am a "crop to story fanatic" having been lashed across the back too many times in the TBCClub. Now I am a firm believer in cropping to a simple story.

To me the man on bus story has nothing to do with the fragment of a reader, rather every thing to do with the cross country traveler [writer] on a bus during a rainy day. I downloaded and cropped at the left at the writers rt shoulder. Cropped below the knees to include enough of the travel bag to tell that he is a traveler. The light spot of the travelers left cuff (rt in photo) is about dead center. So left photo is the traveler, rt side of photo is to show bus and the rainy weather. This is the human story to me.... one then thinks what reason the traveler is traveling... where is he going, why?

Matt, you mentioned #2 is a coyote when you posted to FYC, though I only see fox now that it's been suggested

What Frank2013 and billyspad (in FYC) and Bob Yankle here have suggested is the opposite of what attracted me - it's stimulating that we all bring something different to the table!

What I liked most about your four-legged critter shot is precisely that it is hiding in shadows. If a predator stalking prey, it wants to remain unseen, just another indistinct form in the surrounding bright light. For me this is not a portrait of an animal where we're expecting to see details, it is a behavioral/environmental study - chilling if you put yourself into the mindset of the prey! Very effective.

Hint re responding: use "quote reply" when you are responding to specific people and their comments; that way we know who you are talking to (and also take care to place your own words entirely before or entirely beyond the other person's quote; otherwise you end up breaking the formatting and your words get lost within theirs)

Yes fully agree that hidden beast is hidden and blended with. Also I am a bit of a stickler for references and completeness of details. To be clear we must be technical in our details so as to communicate fully. Do I back slide.. yes at times, but not on a regular basis which I refer to as an unwritten rule of UHH ... do not provide details when asking a cameras question.... do not mention or discuss the Exif.... when photo is small do not provide a down load.

Nice should be followed by detail... only Buster Brown Shoes Cat Midnight is allowed to only say Nice. Excuse me "Nice." Yes it is a quote. "If she liked something, she would say “Nice” in a simpering meow-like voice." Quote is from:
