Yes, this flawed image has my interest, Minnie !!! Your target being in the spotlight, saying possibly a variety of things, such as, "busted", "look at me", "here I am" can be just a few. This has the dramatic somber impact in an image I look for on most occasions only to walk away empty handed. The dam bird series have never been a disappointment, while I'm sure you have such a variety for display and your knowledge and skill with words would not be a surprise for something of a next big step forward, such as a book, magazine article of the sort. Minnie, do keep the dam bird series going despite any other thoughts of dismantle. This is a keeper for sure !!!

Thank you Dave. I'm glad you find interest in it, I can never resist dramatic light that leads to something, and here it led to one of my bird pals. Somber is a good word for it, as dramatic light has different stories to tell. The dam birds are still unfolding. I keep on shooting them, discovering new things about them, and seeking ways to get them a larger audience. Appreciate!

I did not get the impression of the prisoner as alluded to in another comment; but I see your penchant for experimentation here. You also have a fascination with very difficult shots to capture. I think this is very good. It does keep my interest and you did a remarkable job with the light rays coming in through the "keyhole". The light on the bird might be a tad "hot"; but the overall appeal is quite strong.

Thanks Erich. I can't seem to leave them alone, there is too much interesting opportunity. I know what you mean about the light on the bird, that is my biggest concern with this image. What actually happened here is that the light (which I was shooting directly into) was hitting the water spray between me and the bird. I knew I was in trouble when the AF would not work at all, but kept focusing on the water spray and I had to use MF to get around that.

That is a powerful image. I'd go so far as to say it's the most powerful image I've seen in quite a while. Extraordinary!!

Thank you very much! (And welcome to the FYC section!). I've been working on this project almost a year, and got some really fun images out of the filthy underbelly of a local flood control dam, which is fishing ground for human and bird fishermen. Many visits have been dry runs but sometimes I catch the light and water just right, and if I have some birds there, I can maybe find some magic!! The challenge comes in trying to capture and present it.
