Yongnuo 565EXII manual is not telling all.
Purchased the subject ext. flash and the manual is very general in it's information. I have questions about the "rear curtain" control and if the icon is on is it set for rear curtain use?
The manual is specific.
Please advise a form of technical support for this unit.
TNX.
I learned how to use mine suffering YouTube.. Great tutorials..........
Rear curtain is a setting on your camera, at least it is on my D810. It fires the flash at the end of the shutter movement, rather than in the beginning of the cycle. This illuminates subjects in the background more effectively.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbeyZu0gapIYou do have to set your flash to second curtain, it is not a function of the camera (the camera function just like always in second curtain)!!!!
Also it has nothing to do with lighting the background!!
Sometimes the on-line versions of users manuals are more detailed than the printed versions included with the product.
