Breathtaking! The colors and light are just exquisite IMO. The lines and curves of each slightly past-prime petal work beautifully in their individual spaces and as a whole. My favorite to date!

Wiht the exceptions of documentary white or high key black, i like a little more activity in the background.
Leafs, colors, muted patterns, anything that doesn't detract from the subject flower.

And a disadvantage of this type of background is that it sometimes shows circular banding on some monitors. There's three monitors here and one shows just a trace of it.

I like this a lot. The dof is great - sharp throughout. I love the detail and texture of the cone. I like the background because it lets the flower be the undisputed star of the photo and the shade of blue contrasts so beautifully with the green and yellow tones of the flower. In the instance I feel your choice is different and outstanding.

This is very nicely done. I love the dof, as was mentioned already. The background does work for me. I think the subtle changes in shading of the background are really nice. Colors are beautifully saturated; but not over done. Everything is as sharp as can be and that really helps this image.

Thanks Erich.
We've got a large clump of this flower growing in the back yard and I've got more than 100 pictures of it. All reasonably sharp and basically pretty bland looking stuff. This one was taken in the kitchen (about 20 shots) and focus stacked. Makes for a different looking picture.

Beautiful subject, colours, detail - perhaps a tad over sharp and, possibly an effect of stacking (?), a bit of green ca around some of the petals? Well, it's being picky and doesn't matter 'cos its a great job!

It's lovely. I love images like this because it reminds me that things don't have to be perfect to be beautiful! I was going to suggest brightening it just a half a tad, but then I looked at the download. I'll chime in on the side of the background. The placement, the DOF, the angle of the flower - all are very nice.

Very well done. I like the simple background. It doesn't detract from the very sharp flower. Simple and to the point.

Nice sharp shot that I like, but the background makes it for me. Could it just be that blue and yellow will make green when mixed? Simplicity very well done.
