P.S. I refuse to watch actors applauding themselves. Stopped watching all "award" shows. Politics, L**T crap, self-serving "actors"; they get paid for what they do. That should be sufficient.

No social redeeming value, but it is a good place for them. A mutual admiration society, ledgends in their own minds.

I would rather watch paint dry too!!!!! I have gotten to the point that if a movie is nominated or wins an academy award, I don't even want to watch it.

Funny/sad story, there is a former detective who now has a fairly popular show on about his cases. I had the opportunity to meet him recently as a friend of mine grew up with the guy who plays him on the show. So we were chatting at a pub and I, having worked in entertainment for a good deal of my life, mentioned to him how different his world must be now to him compared to when he was on the force. LOL, He told me he's never met so many dishonest assholes in his life as he's met in Hollywood, and in the industry in general. He said one of the curses that comes with the job of detective is that after interviewing as many people as most of them do, they become human lie detectors. He said he can read a person in just a couple of sentences and that it is an asset to an investigator, but a curse in personal life because you realize just how many people lie to some degree, including loved ones. He said it made him very distrustful of most all people, even the one's he'd never want to question that of.
