This past weekend the town of Cape Coral, Florida celebrated its burrowing owls with an annual festival. They invited all the owls to participate, and most of them were very obliging!
Soon the owls will be spending more time in their burrows as they begin nesting. The owls can be seen all around town - owl fans have erected little crosses above the burrows to give them something to perch on - of course, they survived long before these little crosses went up and we saw none of them actually sitting on their human-made perches!
Cool,great opportunity for sharing!
I love those little owls. Get too close and they kind of hiss at you. Thanks for sharing your great photos.
Delightful photos, Steve!

I love these, sb. I've been enjoying several posts of owls by fellow hogs. I'd like to be posting some but can't find any to shoot.
