Adorable images. Those mergansers in the second picture are cute, cute, cute. I've never seen one of these birds and sure would like to.
After researching, there is a locale fairly close to you that, recently, observed one. Here are the GPS coordinates: 42.9459155,-85.7170594 The location is called "Millennium Park--Trestle Trail ponds, Kent County, Michigan, US".
